Red Stripe n Roll ups: Great Escape 2011

Yup, Great Escape Festival is here once again in Brighton and the town is awash with indie boys and girls all sporting tote bags, wrist bands looking for the hottest gig with the shortest queue. I think ‘festivals’ (not really the correct term is it) like this, Camden Crawl and SXSW are unique and awesome in actually catering for the true independent music fan rather than the mainstream crowds that infiltrate many of the other summer music festivals. I particularly like the polar opposites you get at the gigs from mega hipsters busy balancing their quiffs to IT guys who can play every Yuck guitar solo and dress like their dad (not ironically).
